QSpref

Comparison of alternatives is usually clearer than simply rating one thing, so prefer this to star rating.

Question attributes:

• QTitle: @lang; constructed as "QPref1 or QPref2?"
• QDescrip: @lang; "Would you choose..." or "Do you prefer..." or other similar introductory phrase, followed by the alternatives.
• QPref1: short description of one, suitable for the QTitle
• Qpref2: short description of other, suitable for the QTitle
• QPrefer1: if needed, longer description of one
• QPrefer2: if needed, longer description of other

Wants/Answers:

• Wants: 5 (or 7) check boxes
• Answers: 5 (or 7) radio buttons
• no “other” option

Depending on whether QNI is 5 or 7:

EITHER 5-point scale, distinguishing:

• 1: strongly / always prefer QPref1
• 10: slightly / mostly prefer QPref1
• 100: indifferent / neutral / both are good
• 1000: slightly / mostly prefer QPref2
• 10000: strongly / always prefer QPref2

OR 7-point scale, distinguishing:

• 1: strongly / always prefer QPref1
