Colours for the page are set inside the BODY tag. Notice that the background is coloured according to the BGCOLOR attribute, and the text comes out in the colour given by TEXT. If you have any links, they are shown in the LINK colour until they have been visited: afterwards they appear in the VLINK colour.
The table below is just to show you the basic "browser-safe" colours in their numerical forms. Many of the colours also have names though some of them are not very helpful. You can use the obvious simple colour names safely.
Tables have not been introduced yet, so don't worry about those. Here I use the common, but now old, practice of using the FONT tag to change colours of particular words. For modern browsers one would be better using putting a "style" inside the TD tags.
Alternatively, and much more prettily, try the chart originated by my friend and colleague, Martin Jantsch.
I've done yet another chart which is pretty in a different way, and for which I have used style rather than font tags.
